As noted above
Item 2 – Minutes from 6 February
These were agreed and will be forwarded to the Parish Council for acceptance.
Item 3 – The next stages: Peter Baker/Jamie Williams
It was restated and agreed that the Shadwell NP will be a shorter version. Headings agreed:
- Housing
- Community Facilities
- Transport
- Infrastructure
- Heritage and Design
- Environment
Each of these were discussed at some length and Mr Baker agreed to forward a fuller list with sub-headings to the group.
It was noted that Leeds City Council are obliged to undertake a Green Belt review and the Parish Council will contact the Ward Councillors about this.
We need to consider what the area is like now, and how to we want it to be in 15 years’ time. We need to consider how we achieve our goals. We need to prioritise change – ie Short, Medium and Long.
Once the work outlined above, and in Mr Baker’s email, has been undertaken, another open day/workshop should be organised.
The next stage is for individuals to work on specific headings, using the Vision and objectives, and expand.
Consulting with young people: Jamie Williams
After discussion, it was agreed to target several groups:
- Cricket/Football clubs
- Scouts (etc) group
- Childcare and School Playgroup (although these groups would depend on the comments of the parents.
Additionally it was agreed that we will target the School by contacting the Headmistress. Large sheets of paper to be supplied with different coloured post-it notes and felt tips – asking the children 3 questions:
- What do you like about Shadwell
- What don’t you like about Shadwell
- What do you want in Shadwell.
The Chairman suggested Denise Trickett should contact the school as she has acted as a go-between on other occasions.
It was agreed to trial the school first.
A volunteer will also be required to contact the other groups.
